South Korea is preparing to launch the super fast 5G internet.
After launch on Friday, the service will be spread across the country in 85 different cities and users of 5G capacity devices can download programs 20 times faster than existing 4G.
US rival AT & T was the first in the world to launch the 5G network in December 2018 and is currently available in 12 US cities, writes Internet of Business.
South Korea’s 5G network is expected to allow users to download entire movies in less than a second and pave the way for faster video streams.
Consumers will need to have 5G enabled devices to use the service.
South Korea is in competition with China, the United States and Japan to trade 5G, with firms like Samsung, Huawei and Apple becoming pioneers in 5G technology.
